Our Story
Founding Intent
To form a regular lodge under the charter of our grand lodge and provide an experience not found in the average craft lodge.
While maintaining the ritualistic and administrative workings required by all lodges in this jurisdiction, incorporate a Scottish flair where prudent
Keep business to a minimum and have an emphasized focus on our Arts & Sciences, with discourse.
Meet 4 times a year on Saturday evenings to allow a maximum amount of fellowship and discussion, without having to worry about a work day.
Like those lodges in England and Scotland, our numbers will be purposely small, allowing for greater fellowship and opportunity to get to know our lodge brothers.
Having assembled a score of interested Master Masons, a founders meeting was held in 2020 to discuss the next steps. Officers were chosen by the lodge late in the year, and the lodge established a first draft of proposed by-laws, as well as principals and Articles of Operation. Having received permission to meet under dispensation in 2021, the lodge received it's official charter in 2022.
Reasonable Questions to Ask
Is this really a Scottish lodge?
As stated above, we are a regular lodge under the GL of IN, specifically a special interest lodge, as permitted by the GL of IN. We are proud to be a lodge in the Hoosier State that has incorporated Masonic Practices from Scotland and England, where allowed.
We are a part of a growing number of lodges in the Americas that have popped up individually and organically. Some have called these lodges Caledonian Lodges or Scottish Interest lodges.
The title isn't too terribly important to us; we just hope to have a good time on the level with our lodge brothers and guests, and hope to provide a new and enjoyable expierence while doing so.

While we are a Regular lodge, there are some things about us that add to the intended atmosphere.
Those who arrive to lodge early will find ample charcuterie and drink preceding the meeting.
The position of Piper, or Bagpiper, is listed in out By-Laws as an officer of the lodge. A position of great honor, the Piper leads the procession into lodge during every regular meeting. Our Piper has a beautiful and unique jewel of office.
Visitors and members will be seated in the lodge room as the lodge officers, led by the Piper, process into the lodge room , taking their office at the appropriate time.
There will be education presented during each meeting.
Where the presiding officer of a lodge of Masons might call for any news of a need for relief, etc., the presiding officer of Lodge St. Andrew will instead rise 3 times to call for various reports on subjects such as relief, and more.
When the meeting has closed, the Master and Wardens will exit the lodge room first so that they may extend the hand of fellowship and gratitude to all who attended our meeting.
We will hold a dinner or festive board after the meeting concludes, either at a local restaurerat, or on site.
Afterwards, there is ample opportunity for additional fellowship; while not required, those who smoke cigar or pipe tobacco may wish to bring them.
We are grateful to our host, DeKalb Masonic lodge, for the great friendship they have shown us by graciously allowing the use of their temple.
It is not uncommon that other Masonic groups will meet before our meetings.
If you would like to visit, please kindly contact our secretary. Visitors are welcome!
We welcome you to visit a few times to get to know the membership, and, if you are interested, to present a petition to join us. Interested members of the lodge may contribute by presentation an educational lecture during a meeting.
